Chris Hyland

Chris, the founder and President of Berkana Consulting Group, is a renowned and respected Executive Coach with over 300 past and present clients. He has over 20 years of organizational consulting and leadership training experience in Africa, South and North America, specializing in service industries, healthcare, hospitality, and manufacturing. Chris also developed and managed the healthcare division of a major productivity improvement company in the US.

With his depth of experience as an Executive Coach, Chris delivers an authoritative message on Self Leadership as a core requirement for leadership excellence. In agreement with the well known adage of the Delphi Oracle” Know thyself” he speaks to and provides diverse audiences with insight and direction towards developing their internal strengths and staying true to their values.

He is a graduate of the University of Cape Town in South Africa with a degree in Industrial Psychology and Sociology with post-graduate degree in Economics from Stellenbosch University.

He is currently completing his PHD in Philosophy from Wisdom University.

Betty L. Shotton

Betty is the CEO & Founder of LIFTOFF LEADERSHIP LLC and is a Partner with Berkana Consulting. She has over 25 years experience as a CEO, Entrepreneur, and Leadership Consultant. Her business career started at a Fortune 500 as an Internal Consultant and a Manager in Human Resources.

Betty Shotton

She has founded and led several recognized companies in vacation rentals and aviation on the OuterBanks of North Carolina. The largest and most successful of her endeavors was sold on the NYSE and is known today as ResortQuest International (Leucadia/ LUK).

Her aviation pursuits include the start-up of two 135 charter airlines; Southeast Air and SeaAir .She served on the Board Directors of Cape Air and was instrumental in bringing scheduled service to the Outer Banks community. She holds a commercial pilot’s license and is ATP rated.

Betty graduated in the first class of women at the University of Virginia and has an MBA from The College of William & Mary and Virginia Commonwealth University.

Today she is an active speaker and consultant to executives and leaders, business owners and entrepreneurs. In her commitment to higher altitude leadership she speaks to diverse audiences across the United States with her Six Stages to High Altitude Leadership and other presentations on Integrity, Courage, and Potential.

Betty is currently working on her first book on leadership; it is scheduled for publication and release in January of 2011 with Beaufort Books of NYC.
